Our mission for Guyana is to provide resources to orphans and those struggling with poverty. Nari is now expanding our cause to Guyana. Guyana is a very small country located in South America at the very top of the continent. While it is a country of the South American continent, many consider it to be apart of the Caribbean. That is because of how diverse Guyana has become. Its multiethnic population is made up of 40% Indo-Guyanese. 30% Afro-Guyanese and a smaller percentage for mixed-race, Amerindian and other ethnic groups.
Most of Guyanaβs cultural influence comes from East India. The major religions are Catholic, Hindu, and Muslim.
That being said Guyana use to be one of the poorest countries in the world. Having found oil on their land, led me to believe that poverty and orphans really didnβt exist anymore. After digging a little deeper, I found that approximately 48% of Guyanaβs population is suffering from poverty today.
There is approximately 33,000 orphaned children in Guyana. These children are from ages 0-14 years old. These orphans have no access to medical care for eye test, dentist, mental health. These orphans are not in an orphanage, they are on the streets of Guyana.
We need to step up for these children and less fortunate. If you can help, please donate.
